Step-by-Step plan to making my shoe.

Week 1,Step 1:
I will write down my inital ideas and what materials etc i think il be using on my shoe and whether it will be high heel, flat or a mens shoe. I will also need to get my materials.
Week 2,Step 2:
Will finish any planning that needs to be done and will have materials needed to create my shoe,i will start to modrock a shoe template.
Week 3,Step 3:
Carry on any mod-rocking that needs to be done,wait for that to dry and if i have time add on any material that can be added.
Week 4,Step 4:
Start adding materials to my shoe and add on the heel which will be a cotten reel instead of an actual heel because the shop im designing a shoe for is the needlework shop.
Week 5,Step 5:
Finish adding materials and any little parts that need to be added&generally finish the shoe off.
Week 6,Step 6:
Write the health and safety regulations out and whether we had to use anything that could have been dangerous&if needed (and if i have enough time) finish any parts of my shoe that haven been finished.
Week 7,Step 7:
Make sure my shoe is dry and finished and take it to the needlework shop in town.


The above plan im now changing because after being showed a powerpoint on artists i have decided to change the design of my shoe to the following;
im going to make it out of a thin material which can be dipped in wax,but before i dip it into the wax im sticking needles to the thin material so u can just see them through the wax which i think links in well with the needlework shop as it does go with the name,but i might also add more materials other than needles and if i do il update this blog post further down.
     By updating my plan i am using learning objective 3.4 (be able to moniter my own creativity)

Week 1; Write my plan and initial ideas down
Week 2; Make sure my plan is finished and work out what materials i will need to get for making my shoe.
Week 3; Start to make my shoe pattern..using a shoe template
Week 4; Finish doing the pattern of my shoe and cover it in a thin material
Week 5; Add the needles and any other things to the thin material to be dipped in wax next week.
Week 6; Dip my shoe in wax and leave to dry
Week 7; Make sure my shoe is done and take to the needlework in town.Update my plan if needed.

Leaflet for our campaign

This is the leaflet we created for out campaign. It contains information about the charity,and will hopefully inspire people to donate. It will be one of our main ways of broadcasting our Campaign.

A young girl lying in a hospital bed, her mum gets told by the doctors her daughter may not live for much longer due to a serious terminal illness. We see the doctor walk away, and the mother cry.

Scene Two:

A man dumps a bag of donations outside a charity shop and it turns to colour and a ‘kerching’ noise plays.

Scene Three:

The girl gets out of bed happily because she now has enough money to go on a day out with her family and she immediately steps into a park and she is running along holding balloons with her family.

Scene Four:

The man who dumps the donations stands up and says: ‘Look how easy it is to put a smile on a child’s face’. And ‘don’t wait, go donate’ appears on the screen.

This advert is a way to broadcast our campaign which helps complete learning objective 5.2

Careers evet at OPEN

Last week we went to a careers event at OPEN,Norwich which basically consisted of people talking to us about their experainces,their jobs&how they got into the creative industries. There was music,dance,performace,grapic design&animation.
         The most intresting for me was probably the performance part because im very interested in acting and would like to get into it,but i found it its not that easy,but once you get going you'll start to be offered jobs.
        The main message of the day was to put yourself out there and be different from everyone else.The speakers also said we'd need luck and have to have contacts with people in the creative industries.
        I think the day would've been better it it was more hands on with us getting involved,but i did get something out of it and some parts were interesting.

Homework - Learning Objectives

On the creative&media diploma we weill be discussing artifacts and how they are made,we will also be making our own.
    We will be studying how to create a campaign and work out how they are planned down to the smaller details of posters and sources of adverts.
     We will be studying types of performance and how they have chyanged over time and hyow audience effect this.

Quidenham Hospice.

Today we went into Wymondham town centre and went to see our campaign charity,quidenham hospice,to ask them about how we could help improve their donations and what they needed more of.They told us that they didnt need more of one paticular thing but they needed all-round donations and made it clear that they take electrical goods,so we might concentrate on bringing in more of them.We asked questions about what kind of stuff theyd like us to advertise about their charity and they were very eager for us to advertise 'Gift Aid' which gives them an extra 28p for every pound they get,from the goverment,so they asked if we could make that clear on our poster.The staff were really nice and genuinly seemed to like volunteering there,saying that they enjoyed all the nice people they met and felt good about helping a charity.

Also, the Quidenham Hospice are helping us complete learning objective 5.3 because we have contacted them because they are invlolved in broadcasting our campaign.

Needlework Shop.

Today we went into Wymondham town centre and visited our artefact buisness which was the needlework shop.We spoke to the lady in charge,Janice Alms and asked her questions about what she sold (wool,curtains,dress fabrics,patch work cottens,embroidery thread etc...) and how long the buissness had been running (33 years). We found out that the materials wernt imported by them,they brought their materials off of  a complany who imported them from Germany.We went round and filmed the shop seeing all the materials they sold and were suprised to find that there were more customers than we anticipated.The staff were nice and seemed to be quite busy but had time to answer our questions and we found out most of what we needed to.The visit made me think about how my shoe would look and all the different materials that could be used,not nessiccerily just fabric,i could use buttons,needles,cotten reels,beads and other things like that and influenced me that to use other materials other than a pretty patterned fabric.
